Pelican DAF operates from a 30,000 sq. ft purpose built building that was opened in 2001.  Just 2 minutes from J31, M62 on Wakefield Europort, the business is located at the heart of the largest industrial, distribution estate in Yorkshire.

Our location means that operators of heavy commercial vehicles do not have to travel more than 2 minutes off their motorway journey to access our after sales support.

The total site covers 3.5 acres and it is wholly owned by Pelican DAF.  The building was specifically designed for the dealership business.  It has 12 workshops and body shop bays, stocking area for up to £1million of spare parts and a class 7 MOT Test Lane suitable for testing all classes of HGV and PSV.  This service is unique to Pelican DAF in the Pontefract / Castleford area.

A combined parts and service reception area provides customers with a separate waiting area equipped with satellite TV, shower and restroom and light refreshments.

The Pelican Engineering Company, of which Pelican DAF is one operating division, was founded in 1919 and today remains a Yorkshire family business.

Currently out of 112 staff employed, 18 have been with the company more than 25 years.  The business has a very sound financial base, of which the directors are very proud, and the business benefits from a strong programme of reinvestment on an ongoing basis.
