Municipal Specification

In 2007, the UK municipal market will see the introduction of the new BMC Municipal low entry chassis.  This vehicle is the result of an £8 million development budget and is a purpose built low entry vehicle to rival established specialist manufacturers Dennis Eagle, Mercedes Econic and the outgoing Seddon Atkinson range.

The BMC Municipal chassis has been specifically designed to meet and exceed all the requirements of any refuse and recycling operation.  It uses fully tried and tested and market accepted components and the Cummins engine, Allison gearbox, Meritor axles and rubber suspension make it highly compatible with existing fleets.  The BMC Municipal is the only vehicle in it’s class to use the Cummins Engine at Euro 4.

BMC manufactures 23,000 trucks and coaches per year.  The BMC Municipal chassis is carried over from BMC’s existing well proven chassis design and the cab is derived from BMC’s coach building expertise.
